Hello, I’m Arys! Reading has always been my sanctuary, my escape from a crazy day, and my extra-curricular activity of choice. I love how falling into a good book easily takes me on a new adventure every time. I enjoy the books that’ll keep me captive (no matter how long) until I reach the very last word, even the ones that have me crying uncontrollably with ugly tears while reading (Trust me, there are a few of those!). It’s wonderful and reading is definitely one of my greatest loves.
Growing up, reading was generally a singular activity. It was something I simply did on my own, but over the years, I’ve been able to meet many people who love reading as much as I do and have been able to share my thoughts on the books I’ve enjoyed (or didn’t). Now I’d love to do the same with all of you.
Here, you’ll find posts on what I most love to talk about…books! My favorite genres and the ones flooding my library are mostly Romances and Young Adult novels. My favorite authors that you’ll find me always reading are: (in Romances) Alexa Riley, Sam Crescent, Jenika Snow, Cynthia Sax, Maya Banks, Kristen Ashley, Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Sarah Maclean, and Julie Garwood. While in Young Adult, the authors dominating my bookshelves are: Leigh Bardugo, Danielle Paige, Marie Lu, Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner, Jay Kristoff, Susan Dennard, Stacey Kade, Lauren Oliver, Maggie Stiefvater, Lesley Livingston, and Sarah J. Maas.
Other books I am guilty of buying and reading, but not really utilizing are cookbooks. I love reading the recipes and looking at the pictures, but sadly I think I have only cooked a handful of the recipes of the many I have bought. So don’t be surprised to see a few recipes from cookbooks I’m reading or photos of my attempts (good and most likely the opposite at times) at trying those recipes as well tossed in their for fun.
Thank you again for stopping by. I’m thrilled to share my reading adventures (and cooking escapades) with you. As C. S. Lewis wrote, “Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine admirably.” So, have a look around and hope you enjoy Read. Eat. Love.
